Background/Purpose is collecting information as part of the creation of a global network.  Your city information and zip code will be used to locate your general vicinity on our interactive map and such interactive map (including such city information and zip code) will be visible by other visitors using the Services. Any street address information will not be viewable by or shared with visitors using the Services or used to pin-point locations on our interactive map except in the case of institutions.  All other information you submit on or through the Services will not be viewable by or shared with other visitors using the Services unless it is expressly listed by you as “Public Content” or “Public Profile Details”. We discuss additional information sharing and use practices below. “Public Content” and “Public Profile Details” means information you submit through the registration process of our Services that you identify as information which we may share with other visitors using the Services, via our interactive map or otherwise on or through the Services.

Collection of Information,

Information You Choose to Submit. You, either yourself or through a third party social networking service that may be linked to the Services, may submit information that identifies you such as, your name, your physical address, your email address, your city and/or country of residence. In addition, if you choose to register on the Services, you will provide to us your email address, and your current city and postal code. If you choose to participate in the Services, you may elect to provide information in your Private Profile including your full name. You may also submit information that further identifies you: a home or other physical address, city of residence, or country of residence, and whether you are a holocaust survivor or are related to a Holocaust survivor. The decision to provide any of this information is optional; however, if you decide not to register or provide such information, you will not be able to use certain features of the Services.

Information We May Automatically Collect. From time to time, we may collect general information about the use of the Services that does not identify you personally, such as how many visitors use the Services, how long specific users stay on a certain page and which hyperlinks, if any, they “click” on. We collect this information through the use of “cookies” and other tracking technologies, which are discussed below. We may also automatically collect and use the data contained in log files.
